We know that when it comes to your children, safety comes first. That’s why we’ve put clear, responsible policies in place to make sure our photography sessions are safe, respectful and fully in line with best practice.
At the kindy/childcare centre/school
We work hand-in-hand with childcare staff to ensure a safe and supportive environment for photography.
Our staff are always within sight of a centre staff member.
We photograph in open areas like the playground or centre-approved rooms.
We only ever use professional (and bulky) cameras to photograph children.
We never, ever use personal devices eg mobile phonos to take photos of children.
We never enter private areas, including childrens bathrooms.
We are happy to show centre staff photos on our cameras at any time.
Our staff do not change children's clothes with the exception of removing jumpers, top layers. If a child needs a change of clothes we ask centre staff to do this.
Children are photographed gently and respectfully, with no pressure. We do our best to make the experience as enjoyable as possible.
How we store & share photos
Your family’s privacy is important to us, and we’ve put strong systems in place to keep your images safe.
Photos are stored on password-protected computers.
Online galleries are hosted on secure Australian-based servers and Amazon S3 (Australia).
Parents receive a unique access code and can only view their child’s photos and relevant class images.
Our staff
Every person working at BKPhotos understands that child safety is non-negotiable.
All staff hold a current Blue Card (Working With Children Check).
Every team member is required to read and follow these child safety policies.
We are focused on creating a positive experience for every child.
Consent and Privacy
We work with each centre to obtain up-to-date photo permission lists.
Parents can opt out at any time.
We are happy to photograph children and provide a gallery but not include them in class photos - just let us know.
We never post photos publicly without written consent from parents. We never share children's names or the names of the centre they attend.
Let's keep talking
If you have questions or concerns about how we work or how your child’s images are handled, we welcome your feedback. Please get in touch - we’re always happy to help.
